7 A highly significant step that brought the analysis of myocardial deformation to our Brazilian reality was taken in 2023 with the publication of the “Position Statement on the Use of Myocardial Strain in Cardiology Routines by the Brazilian Society of Cardiology’s Department Of Cardiovascular Imaging – 2023” in the Arquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia journal. 8 Several experts joined in the production of this important document that increased cardiologists’ knowledge about GLS.
