Prophylactic rFVIIa use just failed to reach significance in reducing transfusion rates (RR 0.85, 95% CI 0.72–1.01) compared to placebo, but this result was associated with an increased risk of thromboembolic adverse events (RR 1.35, 95% CI 0.82–2.25).
