39 In this study, the decline in eGFR was most highly significant for patients with an eGFR ≥60 ml/min/1.73 m 2 and during the last 3 months before death, with a slope reaching as steep as −2.7 ml/min/1.73 m 2 per month in the last 3 months, which was >4 times the decline in the preceding 9 months and corresponding to a slope of −32.4 ml/min/1.73 m 2 per year.
