Between 1990 and 2019, age-standardized incidence and prevalence rates of RHD have increased by 14.4% (11.2–17.0%) and 13.8% (11.0-–16.0%), respectively, with this increase limited to low- and low-middle sociodemographic index (SDI) locations, while high-middle and high SDI locations showed a decreasing trend [ 6 ].
