Biological relevance of TIL scores The correlation analysis between TIL scores and putative immune cell fractions revealed that TIL scores exhibited a highly significant positive correlation with lymphocyte infiltration (correlation coefficient: 0.398, P < 0.001), primarily due to the contributions of CD8 + T cells (correlation coefficient: 0.372, P < 0.001), CD4 + memory activated T cells (correlation coefficient: 0.239, P < 0.001), activated NK cells (correlation coefficient: 0.181, P < 0.001), and memory B cells (correlation coefficient: 0.213, P < 0.001) (Fig. 6 ).
