Targeting nuclear receptors for disease management Given the critical role of NRs in physiological and pathological processes, they constitute a highly significant and privileged class of intracellular druggable targets for treating various diseases. 52 , 352 – 354 By modulating these receptors, it is possible to influence a wide range of conditions, from metabolic disorders such as diabetes and obesity to immune-related diseases such as autoimmune disorders and inflammatory conditions (Tables 1 , 2 ).
