Correlation analyses using comprehensive gene signatures (see Table S2) demonstrated a highly significant negative correlation of the differentiation score with the category “Neural crest cell differentiation”, indicating that the high differentiation potential of NC progenitors diminishes along the differentiation axis (Fig. 3 F, left).
