Several international studies have documented an increasing trend of colorectal cancer in the population under the age of 50, with distinct clinical characteristics compared to older adults, a pattern that aligns with findings from many countries. 15 , 16 , 17 , 18 A recent study showed that approximately 30% of colorectal cancer cases occur in the AYA population in Saudi Arabia, with increasing rates observed over the past two decades across all age groups, but more pronouncedly in adults above the age of 50. 11 Among young adult females, breast, thyroid, and colorectal cancers account for over 65% of all cancer cases in the 25–39 and 40–49 age groups.
