As CG levels increased, 28-day ICU mortality showed a decreasing trend: the highest mortality was observed in tertile 1 (low CG group) at 13.5% (356/2645), whereas lower rates were observed in tertiles 2 and 3 (8.4% (266/3173) and 8.8% (290/3292), respectively; compared with tertile 1, adjusted ORs were 0.59 (95% CI: 0.50–0.70) and 0.62 (95% CI: 0.53–0.73), both P < 0.001).
