In this study, CO 2 emissions from the 0–20 cm soil layer were consistently higher than those from the 20–40 cm and 40–60 cm soil layers and showed a decreasing trend with increasing soil depth ( Figure 1 ), which is consistent with findings from other studies in the field [ 50 ].
