We repeated all statistical analyses excluding each or all the groups (involving a total of 28 subjects) mentioned above and did not find any substantial difference in the results (data not shown). IgM, IgA, and complement component C3 plasma concentrations were not signifi- cantly associated with TCDD levels (Table 2). Complement component C4 concentrations were higher in the highest TCDD group (Table 2) and a positive trend was found in regression analysis (r = 0.21; p = 0.03).
