Likewise, treating Attitude toward same-sex sexual behavior as an ordinal or continuous predictor yielded results consistent with the main analysis: a linear-by-linear trend test showed a highly significant association ( χ 2 = 91.817, p < 0.001), and coding this attitude variable as a continuous covariate in the logistic model produced an adjusted OR of 0.467 (95% CI: 0.370–0.590, p < 0.001), indicating a robust protective effect ( Supplementary Table S3 ).
