The asso- ciations between MeHg in cord blood and T-Hg in different segments were rs = 0.41 (p = 0.27; n = 9) 2 months before conception; rs = 0.59 (p = 0.02; n = 15) at 1-3 months; rs = 0.42 (p = 0.12; n = 15) at 4-5 months; and rs = 0.67 (p = 0.006; n = 15) at 6-7 months. There was a significant association between the concentrations of Se and MeHg in cord blood (r = 0.26; p = 0.003) and an association of borderline significance between Se in cord blood and T-Hg in maternal hair (r = 0.18; p = 0.05).
