Examining each subsample separately, we see marginally significant effects of outreach on state tax return filing among both groups, although the magnitude of the effect among previous nonfilers is nearly twice as large as among previous filers (previous nonfilers: OLS regression, β = 0.75 pp, SE = 0.44, P = 0.09, n = 77,433; previous filers: OLS regression, β = 0.40 pp, SE = 0.23, P = 0.09, n = 215,551).
