For highly significant differences, such as the deficit of stomach cancer (HR 0.12, E-value > 7.5) and thyroid cancer (HR 0.06, E-value > 11.2) in UKB relative to KCPS-II, the very high E-values indicate that an unmeasured confounder would need to be extraordinarily strong to explain these associations.
