The enzymatic functioning of CLIC1, CLIC3, and CLIC4 appears to occur optimally under more alkaline conditions, with all three proteins showing their highest deglutathionylation activity at pH 8, with an increasing trend in their activity observed; however, only CLIC4’s activity was deemed significantly different compared to the peptide-only control at pH 8, resulting in an AUC value of 1800 ± 521 (a.u), which was approximately a 2-fold increase in activity compared to the peptide-only control (AUC value 880 ± 316). 3.4.
