A similar but slightly weaker pattern emerged in the total physical activity model ( Figure 4 b), where a′ = −0.270, p = 0.051 and b′ = −0.614, p = 0.044, again supporting the mediating role of physical activity in the link between motor competence and BMI, though with a marginally non-significant a′ path.
