SaO 2 increased during the L compared to the F phase at HH independently of the exercise intensity ( p ≤ 0.01), with marginally significant results ( p = 0.06 and p = 0.090, for low and high intensity, respectively) and moderate effect sizes at low intensity (Cohen’s d = 0.484) and high intensity (Cohen’s d = 0.326), as can be seen in Fig. 5 .
