The increase in screening was temporally associated with stage migration: the incidence of metastatic disease at diagnosis showed a decreasing trend (from 13.2% of cases in 2006 to 6.8% in 2018), while localized disease (organ-confined at diagnosis) increased (from 72.3% in 2006 to 85.7% in 2018).
