In this study, we showed that resistance testing within 3 months of HIV diagnosis (early resistance testing) led to a decreasing trend in 2‐year mortality of 0.8% every 6 months compared to the control group (people who did not receive a resistance test or received a resistance test more than 3 months after HIV diagnosis).
