A significant increase in IgG immune response was observed in infected mice groups; specifically, the wild-type mice exhibited highly significant serum IgG response (>1,000-fold) to P. gingivalis ( P < 0.0001) and T. forsythia ( P < 0.0001), TLR2 -/- and TLR4 -/- mice showed significant IgG response to F. nucleatum ( P < 0.0001) and P. gingivalis ( P < 0.0001) (>90-fold), and TLR4 -/- mice had a robust level of IgG response to P. gingivalis ( P < 0.01) (>700-fold) ( Fig. 1D1–3 ).
