Notably, excess 1.2 mmol of MgCl 2 resulted in abundant pinpricks, consuming excess silicate ions and hollowing out the NPs (0.05 g), while the addition of 0.2–0.5 mmol of MgCl 2 led to an increasing trend of surface bumps with insufficient growth (Figure S1 , Supporting Information).
