Our ECGEA cohort of ESCC patients receiving anti–PD-1 monotherapy demonstrated that high ENTPD1 (CD39) expression was associated with improved clinical outcomes (log rank P = 1.5 × 10 − 11 ), with a Cox HR of 0.35 (95% CI 0.09–1.31), indicating a favorable trend with imprecise effect (Fig. 5i ).
