They found that none of the vBMD/structural parameters were associated with bioavailable estradiol levels in young premenopausal women (aged 20-39 yr), who were estrogen repleted, but in elderly postmenopausal women (aged 60 yr and older) they showed highly significant associations between trabecular and cortical vBMD parameters with this hormone levels.
