Based on the observed decrease in ROS levels in D-HCAECs following pequi treatment, our finding that pequi activates the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway in diabetic endothelial cells is highly significant as it supports the hypothesis that pequi reduces ROS by activating antioxidant enzymes ( Figure 4 and Figure 5 ).
