In Northern Italy, a pilot study, published in 2021 by Fappani et al., also observed a positive trend in the depletion of HPV genotypes included in vaccines, both in young women eligible for the national vaccination program and in the total number of circulating HPV genotypes, suggesting a broad impact of the vaccination for the targeted types involved [ 25 ].
