No significant difference was found between the discharge from IPCU, previous to and posterior to the ERAS protocol implementation.[ 7 , 13 ] However, in our series, we identified a significant association between admission modified Rankin score, postoperative vasospasm, and stay in the IPCU, suggesting that patients with greater baseline disability may be at increased risk of developing this complication.[ 15 , 17 ] A trend toward significance was also observed for the discharge Rankin score.
