Comparison of outcomes tended to differ but failed to reach significance within the limited cohort size: Two of the 3 patients with binding to the FnIII domain showed a chronic course of disease, whereas in the patients with an Ig epitope, autoantibodies detected by routine diagnostic testing only persisted in a single patient (analyzed 7 months after onset) and in 8 patients, no positive signals were detectable during the course of disease.
