That study did not report other mental health outcomes; however, in a follow-up study focusing on developmental pathways and internalizing outcomes, Sandler and colleagues reported that participants in the Family Bereavement Program had significantly lower odds of major depressive disorder compared to participants in the control group and marginally significant lower odds of generalized anxiety disorder (Sandler et al., 2023 ).
