Oxygen for Intermediate Risk Pulmonary Embolism (AIR) trial, fixed-dose supplemental oxygen was compared with ambient air in normoxic patients with APE but with RV dysfunction on echocardiography; there was a nonsignificant trend toward improvement in the RV to LV ratio—a measure of RV dysfunction—with supplemental oxygen.
