We developed a random forest model to assess the significance of these 14 dysregulated genes in AD, and the average AUC for 5-fold cross-validation was 0.93 (95% CI: 0.89–0.96) This suggests that this gene set is highly significant in differentiating AD patients from healthy controls and represents a complex regulatory program that is triggered in AD neurons under oxidative stress.
