Statistical analysis of HE staining indicated that, compared with the control group, Ce@gPEI treatment significantly mitigated inflammatory cell infiltration, tissue edema, vascular congestion and acinar atrophy in submandibular gland tissue, with highly significant statistical differences ( Fig. 5 B–E).
