This comprehensive review also demonstrates that in preterm infants born at ≤ 26 weeks and birth weight < 1000 g who experience hsPDA requiring mechanical ventilation, there is an increasing trend toward TCDC compared with surgical ligation, with an overall reduction in interventional PDA closure from 2007 to 2021 [ 15 ].
The gestational age, weight, and feeding status prior to procedural closure of the PDA are marginally statistically significant.
