On average, women scored higher than men on the total IRI (female participants: 3.75 ± 0.05; male participants: 3.45 ± 0.04; F 1,151 = 24.38, p < 0.001; Table 1 ); this gender difference was also found for the IRI_EC ( F 1,151 = 26.83, p < .001), IRI_PD ( F 1,151 = 10.69, p < .001) and IRI_F subscales ( F 1,151 = 5.08, p = .026) but was marginally non-significant for the IRI_PT subscale ( F 1,151 = 3.84, p = .052).
