In a follow-up analysis of patients with laparoscopic resection of colorectal cancer, DEX did not improve overall survival and disease-free survival but presented an increasing trend in overall survival and disease-free survival, indicating that the use of DEX may benefit the long-term prognosis of patients undergoing laparoscopic resection of colorectal cancer ( 19 ).
