In addition to the indirect pathways, we observed a marginally significant direct effect of ethnic identification on COVID-19 vaccine uptake ( b = –0.52, SE = -0.03, P = .05), indicating that individuals with minority ethnic identities were somewhat less likely to report vaccine uptake, independent of national identification and trust in institutions.
