Whereas we found a highly significant reduction of Cladosporium bacteria in DS under high-salt conditions compared to other treatments, and a relatively high abundance of Pleotrichocladium bacteria was found in DS, which has recently been associated with enhanced drought resistance, salinity tolerance, and may be useful in the treatment of serious health problems such as neurodegenerative diseases and antibiotic resistance ( Rodríguez Martín-Aragón et al., 2023 ; Xu et al., 2024 ).
