As per 2020 GLOBOCAN, it is the fourth most commonly diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of cancer death in women, with an estimated 604,127 new cases and 341,831 fatalities. 1 Epidemiological studies have demonstrated that the human papilloma virus (HPV) is officially designated as the main cause of CC, primarily HPV-16 and HPV-18. 2 HPV-16 was found to be highly significant in tissues from CC patients, followed by HPV-18. 3 According to the molecular mechanism of CC, HPV deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) was integrated into the host's genome which prompted keratinocytes to change the uterine cervix into cancer. 4 The uterine body and vagina are connected via the cervix.
