Collectively, these findings may account for the observed contrasting phosphorylation levels of SMAD2 and SMAD3 following 7-OCT treatment, wherein SMAD2 phosphorylation in contrast to SMAD3 exhibited an increasing trend, supporting the potential inhibitory effect of this compound.
