Although our meta‐analysis of proportions does not allow us to accurately compare the pooled results of COES against those of MM, the patients who received MM had a nonsignificant trend toward a higher rate of recurrent strokes or TIAs at long‐term follow‐up than patients in the stenting group (19% versus 12%; P value of test for subgroup differences=0.09).
