These findings corroborate laboratory studies demonstrating that nicotine concentrations ≥5 mg/mL significantly increase cytotoxicity in oral keratinocytes.[ 8 ] Interestingly, while flavored e-liquids showed a nonsignificant trend toward higher risk (aPR = 1.60, P = 0.078), this may reflect the limited power to detect effects of specific flavoring compounds, which have shown variable toxicity profiles in in vitro studies.[ 9 ] C ONCLUSION This study provides compelling evidence linking e-cigarette use with oral lesions among urban Indian youth, even after controlling for potential confounders.
