The notable decline in prevalence from 21.1 % in studies before 2015 to 15.4 % in those after 2015 suggests a positive trend, potentially resulting from increased global awareness, improved diagnostic capabilities, and changes in control strategies and surveillance models over the past decade [ 33 , 34 ], rather than a natural decline in M. bovis itself.
