The above-mentioned RWE Dutch study reached similar results, with only 9% of patients with MIBC enrolled between 2008 and 2016 receiving a neoadjuvant chemotherapy: despite an increasing trend in the use of cisplatin-based chemotherapy regimens, a significant proportion of patients did not receive guideline-recommended chemotherapy, potentially because of factors such as age, comorbidities, and performance status [ 20 , 35 ].
