In an ICB phase III trial, pembrolizumab, an immune checkpoint inhibitor drug, combined with concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) followed by maintenance pembrolizumab significantly improved progression-free survival (PFS) and demonstrated a positive trend in OS compared with CCRT with placebo in patients with newly diagnosed, high-risk, locally advanced cervical cancer [88] .
