Specifically, B cells, plasmablasts, CD14 + monocytes, DCs, and CD8 + T cells showed an increasing trend, whereas CD4 + T cells, NK cells, and CD16 + monocytes declined, resembling the immune cell profile observed in critical patients (Fig. 1 d).
