Finally, Mason and colleagues (2018) used a sample of 370 autistic people from the United Kingdom and found that AoD approached but did not reach significance for predicting quality of life after controlling for other variables (i.e., relationship status, living status, employment status, co-occurring mental health conditions, physical health conditions, financial support, education level, autism traits), although it did reach significance when only considering participants with a formal diagnosis.
