Bacteriological confirmation via LP was reported in 106 cases (37%) overall, with a nonsignificant trend toward higher confirmation rates among those with more than five years of experience (44, 44%) compared with those with two to five years (50, 33%) and those with less than 2 years of experience (12, 38%) ( P = 0.2).
