A notable trend is that despite an overall low experiential fatality rate from snakebite, most respondents gave high estimates of fatality rates from untreated bites by dangerous snakes, with non-attendees with no knowledge of the workshops estimating a mean fatality rate of 89% (range 20–100%, Table 3 ).
