The global prevalence of PIM has changed over time, displaying an increasing trend. 21 Various factors are associated with PIM, such as older age, 24 25 polypharmacy 20 24 26 and health deterioration. 19 As the prevalence of PIMs has been increasing over time, influenced by various factors such as ageing, polypharmacy and healthcare system limitations, determining the pooled prevalence of PIM, PIP, PPO and PDDI, along with their associated factors, is of paramount relevance.
