Cox proportional hazards analysis adjusting for age, sex, tumour stage and ancestry indicated participants whose tumour had any mutation in a driver gene had a tendency for an increased risk of death (hazard ratio = 3.19, 95% confidence interval, 0.8, 12.74; P value = 0.1), although this was not conventionally significant (Supplementary Table 26 ) (Fig. 5c ).
